I've been working on my 22. Purchased it a few months back and have been making repairs and trying to educate myself. I recently practiced raising and lowering the mast. The mast has a halyard for the main and jib. I noticed another halyard that runs 2/3rd of the way up the starboard side of the mast. Not sure of its purpose.

Maybe a burgee or flag halyard? Radar reflector halyard?
Is the line 1/4"? Larger?
(less likely) Topping lift? Lazy jack lift?

It looks like 5/16 diameter. I did find a flag in the cabin so it could be for that.

5/16 is awfully big for a flag halyard. If it runs above the jib halyard, perhaps is a spinnaker halyard.

That's probably what it is. I didn't even think of that. It didn't come with a spinnaker but may of had one at some point.
