I have a 26' Hunter and want to install a larger water tank for the galley sink. I was hoping to put it under the seat on the galley side. I bought something from West Marine but of course, I didn't measure and it doesn't fit - way too big. Has anyone found something suitable. I was hoping for at least a 25 gallon tank, although my boyfriend is griping that it will weigh down the boat too much. Any suggestions... Thanks, Mary

Two thoughts
1. Flexible bladder type tanks used for fuel would work well here. Check the West Marine catalog for all kinds of sizes and configurations. 2. Tell your boyfriend that the alternative is a another boyfriend who weighs more than he does.

Port side
I would prpbably locat it on the Port side for it may counter balance the motor. Routing the hose around to the galley would be very simple. While you are at it you might want to add a small pressure pump. I did and it is fantastic!

H26 Water Tank
Mary, I've owned two H26's. On the first one I installed a 35 gallon flexible water tank (from West Marine) under the V-berth. Never did have it fastened down and it shifted around a bit. My 2nd H26 came with a 13 gallon water tank (flexible) also installed under the V-berth. This one has a compartment built for it right up in the tip of the V and is fastended down. I like the way it stays put but it is too small. I'm going to take it out and install a larger one. Happy Sailing! Jim Schaff s/v Savannah

Fixed water bladder
I installed a 13 gallon bladder tank (from West Marine) - not a fuel tank - in the V-berth. I attached some small blocks of teak with 5200 near the corners of the bladder, then attached fasteners to those blocks. Two big wire ties (zip ties) hold the bladder in place (don't over tighten as the bladder will raise up when filled).
