Anyone know of a source for the coordinates of nav aids along the ICW? It seems like the USCG publishes a lights list but I don't know where to find one.Thanks.
One would think that the USCG would put on the web the GPS coordinates for the ICW markers. It would be available to all (your tax dollars at work) and greatly enhance safety. Has Boats US gotten after them regarding this ?Jim McCue
I believe I saw a chart at West Marine in Destin that not only showed ICW markers, but their Lat/Long coordinates as well.I have sailed my boat from P-cola to Destin down the ICW(very easy). Please let me know if I can help. Good Luck, Bob S/V Lady Di II (H31)
West Marine has a book with the coordinates south of Tampa. It costs about $35. I bought Garmin's Mapsource Waterways and Lights cd-rom, install it in a computer and you can pick them right off the cd. It cost $69 and I like it for this purpose. I covers the US. You can down load them to agarmin gps if it can be downloaded to.You should back it up by picking them off your own chart. Also I ask other boaters I know for their lists to check mine against.
Thanks for the URL on the GPS markers for the ICW. I have a Lorance Eagle and the managment software to download 'em into the GPS. It sure beats sailing up to each marker and tapping "waypoint" on the unit.Jim McCue
