Icemaker

On our 85 37C the icebox has been fitted with an A/B system that works great! except, on our last trip south we spent more on ice than on fuel. Would like to get information from anyone who has installed an icemaker to solve this problem. Needed the refr/freezer for food on extended trips. Thanks for any info.

Ice Maker = Ice Cream

We had the same problem with the ice situation plus storing it in the freezer compartment meant that we were opening the freezer many times each day and everything in the top half of the freezer thawed out. We installed a U-Line 25lb/day ice maker and are very satisfied (the best addition to the boat at cocktail hour). It is 110v ac and runs off the inverter 24 hours a day. We now make homemade ice cream on the hook. We just ask the other cruisers to bring the cookies.
