Icebox Insulation

I have converted the icebox to a refrigerator and now the refrigerator is cycling for an extended period of time. I am interested in finding what type and how much insulation comes standard from the factor? Has anyone converted their icebox and did or where they able to add additional insulation to improve the R value of the icebox. Any instructions on how you did this would also be very helpful. Thanks for your help. Dennis

Refridge

I haave a 336 - installed a Norcold refeer unit in it last year and am having great results - I leave ours on all the time (while tied up at the dock and while out). It isn't running much (maybe 10 to 15% of the time) and is keeping things very cold. I didn't add any insullation - you should be okay too as we live at the same latitude. I assumed that because they were made in Florida (where it's warm) that Hunter would have put in plenty of insllation. At the point where I drilled through the icebox liner for the refridgerant lines, it was about 2" thick.

Same Here

Exact same situation here as previous reply. I added a refer system right into the standard icebox. Works very well with no long run times or cycling. And I am in a warmer climate. Could it possibly be a system control problem vs. a heat entry problem? Or could compressor be kicking out on over temp or pressure? What about DC voltage, unit usually will kick out on low voltage also.
