Here is the information on an insulating pad for the icebox. I found this ad in an old issue of Points East so I called the number to make sure they company was till in business. The company is located in Washington state, so I got someone up because I called from Maine. Anyway, the company name is Standout Yacht Fittings. They are located in Longbranch WA & the phone number is 800-622-1877. The Super Q Ice Saver in the add is 18x24 and 3 yrs ago sold for $23.00. The pad is made of mylar reinforced foil between foam layers & covered with vinyl. Says it will make ice last three times longer and the food/drinks will stay 20 degrees cooler.I don't own this product, yet. In a previous thread about icebox woes the subject of this pad came up & someone asked where to get one. I think it might have been Fred who said that he used one of these pads. Also mentioned in the thread was the company RParts. I looked them up & think that I will use there product to build & insulate a new icebox for my boat. They are considerable less expensive to Glacier Bay, but I may be comparing apples to oranges. Anyway, the "Captain" has issues with the Glacier Bay products, says he won't spend over $1500 to build an icebox for a 25 year old sailboat that needs too many other upgrades. He's got a point. The link for RParts is below for anyone who wasn't following the icebox woes thread
