Icebox drain fitting

I have a two section ice box on my Tartan 30 with access from both the galley as well as from the cockpit. The rear section has two drains in it which would indicate that's where to put the blocks of ice. The forward section however doesn't have a drain in it. The lid in the cockpit leaks and it is situated over the forward section. I'd like to put a drain in the forward section and was trying to find a low profile screw in barb fitting similar to this but without the bulk of the head as that would leave almost 3/8 " of water in the box. I'm not not finding much. Any suggestions?

You may have to combine a screw-mount thru-hull (http://www.defender.com/product.jsp?path=-1|51|2234277|2234280&id=3057662) with a female threaded barb fitting (http://www.defender.com/product.jsp?path=-1|2243574|2243585|3359420&id=3057906). That should allow you to get all of the water out with the mushroom head of the normal style thru-hull keeping the last 1/4" or so from draining. Make sure you coat the new hole you're going to drill with un-thickened epoxy and let it set/harden before you install the thru-hull (to keep the icebox bottom from wicking any moisture through the raw drilled edges). Good luck.
