A winter leak ruined the ice box lid on the boat I have just purchased, a Hunter 31 '84. Any ideas how to find a replacement lid, or where to look to replace it? Or, is this something that needs to be built from scratch? I know this is a small matter, but I will need a lid for cruising this summer and I'm not sure where to start to look. Ideas welcome. Thank you. Bill

I used this fix on my 31H

I when to West Marine and bought 3/4" starboard and cut it for a tight fit and then applied with 3M 5200 1/2 styrofoam. It works great and I can keep 20 lbs. of ice for 3-4 days in florida heat.

Thanks/ A Fuel Filter # question....

Thanks, this is a good ice lid suggestion, and I will do just that. --------------------- I also want to change the fuel filter on my 2GMH Yanmar engine but can't find the Racor filter number(or Dahl--both are recommended). Does someone have that number handy, please, or know where to look it up? This is a Hunter 31 '84. Thanks again. Bill

I bought a Walmart cutting board......

and cut it to size, added a small brass handle, glued some foam insulation to the bottom to fit the insert and it worked great. Then, of course, I found the previous owner and he still had the original.

Just a piece of plywood with formica.

Bill: The lid is just a piece of plywood with formica. This is an easy do it yourself project. It is a good idea to use some insulation around the opening and then add some insulation on the underside of the lid to keep out the heat.
