Greetings from Central Florida!!!!! Became the owner of a 1981, S25 one week ago. Need advice on ice box size, and location in boat. Looks like it would go under the companion way. Also, looking into the idea of adding a doger/spray shield. Has anyone done this yet? Pictures would help. Having trouble getting the kicker, up and down. Looks like one needs to be made of rubber, to pull motor out of the water. Has anyone had any success in relocating the main sheet, from the cockpit floor? Fair winds to all......... g9334

I can help with

The icebox question. First you need four inches of insulation, that will keep forty pounds of ice in gallon jugs cold for a week at about eighty degrees outside air temp. Then you need to allow for your favorite cold beverage and some food. Mine is about a 2 foot cube inside.

Original Ice box

The original ice chest that came with my S-25 was a Coleman Cooler with top dimensions of; 13" x 23-1/2" by 14-1/2" height. It was placed under the step. I built & installed a custome box under the countertop next to the sink. If you are interested, there are some photos that I took during the installation in the boat listings on the seidelmann site.

For construction of an ice box

it is had to do better than the foil faced foam insulating boards sold in building supply centers. Use canned urethane foam for all the joints and line it with very thin fiberglass and epoxy.

S-25 Ice Chest

Lucky me.............I found the exact model Coleman ice chest, Paul had mentioned. For now, I think that is what I well use. At a later date, I might do the same thing Paul did for his boat. Thanks to all who responded about the Ice Chest. Fair winds to all........................
