Ian’s third landfall

I just got back to the dock in New Smyrna Beach Florida (just south of Daytona).
Intuition is afloat and upright, as are ALL the other sailboats in the marina, thankfully.
Some small runabouts are off their floating docks, two sank.
Something about macrame storm prep I guess.
But the water level in the river is still too high to board. Some docks at the marina are destroyed, some pilings at docks, (including two of mine) are broken and floating.
We had a lull in the wind for about an hour, then the eye wall arrived with a vengeance.
This is my 7th hurricane... Wonder what Maine looks like in the Fall?

Maine in the Fall is absolutely beautiful. A lot colder than where you are, but quite lovely. Closer to you is the Chesapeake... I recommend it...

Thanks to you all for the kind words.
Actually, I started my sailing life on the Sassafrass River 50 years ago in a 23 ft. sloop.
I enjoyed the experience, except for the annual haul-out and winter prep!
