I've had the great pleasure to meet and talk to Iain the last few days as he readies the PEGGY BAWN from Ireland to race in the Eggemoggin Reach Regatta. As we stood on the docks the other day, we were surprised by Dan Cassidy on his Challenger FLEANA from Bangor who stopped to meet Iain. It was terrific to get a tour of FLEANA and hear about Dans adventure across the Atlantic.
Iain is a world class wealth of knowledge for all things sailing including organizing the restoration of the PEGGY BAWN originally built in 1894 for it's owner who is here in Rockport as well to race the boat. The boat was shipped from Ireland for the race. Then they head down the coast to Nantucket for racing there. Quite an adventure which he may better fill us in on when he gets some time.
