Friends, I now have my dream boat, an '83 C0-30 Dieseland am going through winterizing it for the first time. I'm looking for some good tips on all of the winterizing steps and any other suggestions. I'm also seeking creative ways to cover the boat. At this time I plan to store the mast across the boat as a support for a cover. Any good ideas?? Thanks in advance for any response. Jim

no problems

Hey Jim, Hello from nearby. I too purchased my dream boat this spring, it is a 85 C30 and I love it. I think maybe you should build 2 or 3 supports for the mast so all the weight is not on the railings all winter. Be sure to blow out the hot water heater, I drained mine but also put a piece of tubing on the input and just blew through it, another gallon came out. I could go through everthing since I just did it all, but the owners manual has everyting in it. E-mail me if you like www. blowinganddrifting@yahoo.com Everything is easy to do!! Dean

Mast

If you take down your mast make sure you support it so its as stright as possible. Otherwise you be trying to take the s-curves out of it when you restep it in the spring. Bioside your diesal fuel and topoff the tank. Change your oil and filter. Use the pink antifreeze in your freshwater system and icebox drain. Also suck it thru the raw water side of your engine until it comes out the exhaust. There's away to cover the boat with pvc and tarps from the Tech Talk archives. I'll fax it to you if you want. Good luck! richard@gresham.com
