I am going to purchase a new boat before the end of the year but I cant seem to find a dealer that has a 260 on hand. I am in southwest Florida, and would like to ask if anyone has A newer 260 I could look at before buying one. It is impossible to find a dealer in my area that has one.

...to the Hunter factory in Alachua. It's about 300 miles from Naples. I drive by it several times a week and there always seems to be a 260 at the end of the line. They are happy to give you a free factory tour, and you can board any completed boat that hasn't been sealed for delivery.

Wobegone: My wife and I got our 2003 H260 from Doug Fisher in Sarasota - (941) 951-0189. When we were shopping, he arranged a test sail on a customer's 260 in the area. Just an aside but it is my 7th anniversary of my 40th birthday today! My wonderful wife and two daughters asked this morning what I would enjoy for dinner tonight ( in about 2 1/2 hours time). Sorry to have to inform you Jim but my order is: Fresh Tiger prawns in a prawn cocktail mix /lettuce and a lovely sauce! Followed by: Fresh Baramundi fillets Grilled to perfection served with a fresh garden salad. All washed down with one of our fine white wines from this region. Does it not make you feel just a little hungry?

I would strongly recomend a factory tour. I took one when visiting my mother in Daytona this winter and it was quite informative. If you ever purchase a 260 the tour gives you a basic understanding of how it was built and where and how you can modify if you so choose. Plus you can see a 240 right on up to the big big boats in various forms of completion. Brad

Mexico Vacation
Come on down to Mexico for a vacation and we'll take you out. San Carlos is a short 5 hours drive from Tucson AZ or 1 hour by plane. We may be selling our 2000 fully loaded if we decide to move up to a larger boat.

Thank you for all of the replies. I have been invited to see the factory and that is indeed what probably will happen. I just dont want to take the time off work right now. Missing work also turns it into an expensive trip. I was hoping to purchase a boat this fall and the soonest I could see one at a dealer would be October. I am trying to decide between the Catalina 25 and the 260. I dont know when I will be in the upper part of the state again but if I haven't seen one by then I will send out another e-mail with my destinations. Thanks again

My H260/270 is listed on the 270 webpage - take a look at it! I live in the Tampa area, but the boat is in Portland, Oregon. It is a 2000 and it has only been used for two short seasons on lakes in the Oregon area and has about 30 hours on the Yanmar diesel.
