i am buying a 25.5 1984 hunter and need a good estimate so that i know my bounds on when i am not getting a deal any more . the boat needs alot of work its been sitting for about a year or so now , it has water damage to the floor and the outside needs to be worked on to because the years of no attention is showing, they are asking $7,900 for the boat if you could tell me what a resonaable price for this boat would be i would be so thankful , because it is my first sailboat. thanks, brad

Use all resources

My recomendation would to be check around. Soundings, yachtworld, local advertisements for used boats. There is a vast supply of sources on the internet. Drive around and look at some of the boats that are For Sale so you have some idea of whats available at what price and you have something to compare to. Generally Fall is a good time to buy because sellers would rather not pay for storage for another winter so their asking price should be pretty negoiable. MPJ
