Dear Macgregor Owners,
I own a 1981 25 ft Macgregor sailboat that has a damaged mast.
Anyone know where I can find a used 28 ft mast for a Macgregor Sailboat in Southern California?. I am grounded until I can find one.
Do all 28 ft masts have the same placement holes for rigging brackets and boom brackets?
Respectfully,
Jeff

OUCH

This is what I found from Dwyer. Just the Extrusion. You will have to make it complete. Do you need a boom too? I am waiting for an answer about the sale of my Mac25. If I don't sell it I will part it out. Mast $400 obo.

Remove Part Description Quantity Update Item Total DM-6 Mast Extrusion - Tube Length 28 ft. 0 in. based on stock length of 28'6" @ $26.35/ft. 1 - $750.98 Order Subtotal: $750.98

You may wish to get the various measurements you need for your mast, then go take a look at one on CL for Los Angeles area:
"----- SAILBOAT MAST FOR 26 FOOT MACGREGOR ------ - $250 (Culver City)"
(#1866455152)
Not sure if it will work for your 25, but he states it's 28 ft in length.

Good luck!

There's also a guy in Wilmington/Long Beach who deals in salvaged boat parts who advertises on CL as well, who may have a mast to meet your needs.

Didn't sell the boat so I have an 85 Mac 25 that I want to part out. Pretty complete with the exception of the table and sliding Kitchenette No electronics. I made a mold for the sliding hatch and have a new hatch and the mold. Mast, boom, rudder. Buy it all or in part. See some pics in my profile. TIM

Don' know if you'll much luck. Used masts are usually damaged. Contact MacGregor in Cosa Mesa. The may have a few laying around. Also Contact Minnies in Newport Beach. They specialize in used stuff. Check with local dealers. Your best bet is to contact Sparcraft, if they're still in business. Also Bluwater marine in Washington. Phone 206-282-4261. Your lucky you live on the coast. You can just pick it up. Freight would cost your left arm. Would suggest getting a heavier extrusion than what is stock and reinforce spreaders. Good luck and fair winds..
