I Got Lucky This Morning

Went down to the boat to check on the tide, since everything has been so out of whack the last week or so. As I was crossing the damn, I happened to glance out toward the mouth of the creek and noticed this spectacular sunrise. I was so lucky that I had my camera with me and was able to catch it.

Do you find sometimes that you just happen to be at the right place at the right time with a camera?

Wow! What a great picture. I have only experienced that a couple of times. Here is one example of a picture at the North end of Barters Island on the Sheepscott River in Boothbay, Maine.

I too got lucky one morning. Was motoring back from a 10 day trip to Florida and snapped this pic in the ICW about 10 miles East of Mobile Bay.

Ross, I think I feel the same way every time I see the dentist and get out of there with all my teeth and no drilling. However though, are you sure you weren't thinking about getting lucky about something else:naughty: at first ?

Sunrise over Faulkners Island

I got lucky one evening . . .

On our first and only night sail this summer I looked back to see this spectacular sunset. Fern Ridge Reservoir near Eugene, Oregon.

2 images taken from a moving boat, hand held, and a fairly long exposure (1/15 sec) then pasted together. Won't get entered in the camera club competition but I like it as a reminder of our first night anchored out on the lake.

Holy Smoke Everyone

Those are all spectacular. It's amazing the emotions that get evoked from something as serene as sunrises, sunsets and views on the water. Seems to certainly help soothe the mind and induce tranquility, the main reason I like being out there on the water. Much more therapeutic than a head shrink Thanks so much for your contributions everyone. Truly a nice collection!
