I have found Vega 382. She is 125 miles inland in North Carolina.
I am new to the Vega and I am doing research to see if this would be
a worthwhile project. Any advice would be appreciated.
She is in terrible shape. There is 2-4" of water in the bottom.
She has the original Albin engine and variable pitch prop. I'm sure
it hasn't been running for 2-5 years. The hull seems to be in good
shape. She will need all new rigging and sails. The interior is in
bad shape but looks to be all cosmetic problems. Practically
everything (stove, head, lights etc.) have been stripped from the
interior. There is a possibilty that I can get her for $0.00. What
would be the most that I should offer if I can't get her free? Are
there any flaws that are inherent that I should look out for? I
know about the deck sag around the mast and it doesn't appear to be
a problem. Thanks in advance!
