I got the catalog once or twice. Didn't really use it all that much as searching online is 1000 times easier. All the pretty pictures too. Don't get the West Marine one anymore either. See them as a waste of paper, shipping costs, and space when you can do everything online. Just me though.
Can't argue with that, but only if you know what you want. Sometimes you don't know what you need, or better yet, could use until you see it?

The paper industry fell apart, here in northern New England, and the entire top of our state, all woods, went up for sale. Paper companies managed their resource but housing development is forever.
Grants were scrambled for and some of that land was acquired by conservation groups, but not all of it. Either the public pays for it in taxes and charitable gifts or in paper products.

Logging companies today seem to be better stewards of the environment than in the past. Developers, not so much.

In case you missed it, Defender has a special deal every Wednesday. Go to their site and sign up for the email. They were doing this with Active Captain until AC was acquired by Garmin. Some of the deal are really good, some so-so. Recently I purchased a set of LED running lights for my RIB at about 30% off their usual price.

Steve Martin has developed into a monster talent in string band music, as both a composer and as a banjo player. If you like Steve Martin and/or contemporary string band music, do yourself a favor and check out Martin's musical recordings, starting with "The Crow", released in 2009. Skip the first song on your first listen; it is unlike the rest of the album. Steve tours with the Steep Canyon Rangers. If they play near you, don't miss it.
