I don't know what my boat is

This fall I traded 2 canoes for this sailboat. My problem is theres no name plate or any other I D . It's 22' long and the top pops up.I think it might be a macgregor but I can't get any info from them. I need sails and a rudder, to do some fiberglass work, and all the electronics, otherwise she's ready to sail "I think". I can use all the help I can get!
I have a Dolfin SR 14', but this is something new to me. I realy want to get her in the water this summer, PLEASE help.

It does look a lot like a venture 22 (Macgregor).

You should find a hull id number on the starboard side of the transom that looks like this.

If it has a cutout in the transom for better access to the motor it's a Venture 222 made by McGregor back in the mid 70's.

If it has a pop top it looks like a venture 222 or 25. as suggested check riight side of stern on the hull. if it is a Venture is should say something like MAC.......##?. The last two number should be the year it was built followed by a letter. This is the hull number.

I just bought a 1972 Macgregor venture 2-22 and it looks just like your boat. As has been stated the pop top and cut out transom differentiate the 2-22 from the 22. I bought mine both to sail and to satisfy my handyman urges. Good luck on your project.
