Does anyone know what the actual height is of the steel I-beam under the compression post in a 78 H30? I took mine out, measured it and wrote that down, then brought it to a shop to have a new one made. He said it would be done in 3 days. 4 weeks + ( I lost count ) later I get it back but can't find my measurements. I could have sworn it was exactly 8 inches in height, but the new one is 8 1/4. Is that some kind of standard thing with I-beams, like 2X4s aren't really 2 in X 4 in?? Thanks
