I am looking to get dimensions/weight etc. for a Centerboard off a 25ft Oday

I lost my keel in the tampa Bay and want to make a new one instead of buying a pricey replacement. Does anyone have the exact dimensions/weight, etc. for a keel from a 25ft 1982 o'day?

Thanks,
Kyle

sounds like he's looking for the centerboard swing keel and I wonder about the pivot tube and wedges that hold up the pivot tube cause they must have went with the centerboard

Actually, I think you need the details on the centerboard and here is a sketch of the O'DAY 25/26 centerboard. Weight is not much, maybe 40# (+/-). It only need to be heavy enough to not float and so it will pivot down on it's own. O'DAY put about 15# of lead flashing inside the hollow CB to accomplish that. I've also included a picture of the parts that make up the assembly that holds the CB pivot pin into the keel and a drawing that shows that all assembled. The details are actually from a 222 (TRINKA), but O'DAY used the same basic parts for the 25 (check with D&R Marine if you want to be sure, Rudy has good info even if you make your own CB).

Right, he has edited the title since his original post to better reflect his question - hence my original question of "how do you lose a keel?"
