Cabin Cover

Hello Bill: My homemade cover isn't as fancy as the one in your photo. It works well & keeps the bugs & bird s--- from staining the cabin top. Also dust doesn't filter into the cabin. The OB cover matches. I'll try again to send a photo with this response but for some reason it didn't work the first time even though I had the photo displayed & confirmed when sending. Regards, Bob B.

Looks like a Catalina Direct cover to me, C22 owner at the YC has one just like it and bought it from them.

Get rid of the ampersand in the file name

...and make sure the file is smaller than 80Kb, of course. :)

Thanks Bob

I appreciate the picture Bob and that's what I'm looking for.... hard for me to tell but does the cover also cover the handrails? I have the snaps for the popup cover...did you use these to secure the cover? I'd appreciate any other photos or info you'd like to share.... Thanks again...Bill

Cabin Cover

Bill: I don't have the hand rails on my 1981 C22. I don't know if your cover should extend over the handrails as this might enable the wind to go under & lift the cover. I have the snap fasteners for the pop top enclosure but didn't use them for my cabin cover. I have a SS fitting on the bridge deck & a hook sewn into the cover. This holds the cover right down on the bridge deck. I had heavy duty loops sewn at the forward corners & at the mast location & use 1/4" shock cord to hold the cover down to the shroud fittings or turnbuckles. Grommetts usually don't last long. The material is a heavy duty industrial type aluminized cloth & it lies flat. The photo shows that the cover was not hooked at the bridge deck. What do you think of my 48" long traveler with the backstay lug attached? The original backstay fitting pulled out of the fiberglas. Regards, Bob B.
