I am in the market for a 420, what are the "Watch-outs"

We are looking for a 1999 or newer 420 CC.

Are there any years or certain things to watch out for?

What years had some big inprovements (engines, holding tanks, Electronics, etc)or are there just a few small changes year by year?

We will sail her in Southern Cal, Oceanside area.

Any advise would be greatful

Good, because Hunter didn't start making 420's until 1999

To my knowledge, no more so than any other production boat

Again, to my knowledge, just small changes year to year.

Suggestions,
- If you have not done so already, go to the "Boat Info" tab on this site.
- Personally talk to a few 420 owners, if possible, .. as well as owners of other comparable boats .. to evaluate and compare 420's.
- I suspect that you will not find a 420 owner who is not delighted with their boat; nor will they have many bad things to say about them.

Everyone has their own likes and dislikes, but if you are looking for a good seaworthy CC cruising sailboat, ...
Hunter 42's, 420's, 450's, & 456's are hard to beat ... just depends on how old , how big, and how much $ you want to spend.
