I recently aquired a Garmin chartplotter/fishfinder. I need to purchase a transducer for the fishfinder. I don't want to haul the boat out for a new through-hull so I was told to get a shoot-through transducer. I was about to do this when I found out that my existing depth and speed transducers can be removed for maintenance. My question is are these through-hull fittings universal and can I purchase a new transducer and fit it directly into the existing through-hull fitting. Thanks for all the help!Larkin

Sounder Idea

Usually there is a transducer plug that comes with the transducer when installed. Marina tend to give the plug to the owner or will leave it near the thru hull transducer. You might try the manufacturers web site and look at the transducer specs. Whe you do try to install in the same hole besure the O-rings are lubricated so they don't roll and/or tear. Fair winds
