hydrofoil plates on outboard cavitation plate

I used them on my Mac 19 to get on a plane faster and reduce cavitation but noticed in 26M manual that they could be dangerous?
I have a 2005 M with 50 hp Suzuki and prop was cavitating at higher speeds. Trying new prop but also trying whale tail/hydrofoils. Possible the rubber bushing in old prop caused cavitation.

Anyone ever try hydrofoil/whaletail plates on their boat?

Bringing this one to the top as it came up on my search. I was perusing a marine catalog for the odds and ends I still need and came across the whale tail hydrofoil things. The photo grabbed my attention because it looks to me like this would be just the ticket to preventing prop strikes on my Mac S when the rudder is partially kicked up in shallows. My brain immediately thought "that seems easier than building one of the hoop things I've seen here". I have no misconceptions that I think it'll get the Mac to plane faster (hahaha) but would it prevent the strikes? And is there any adverse effect?
