hydraulic oil for Raymarine autohelm

I need to add a little bit of hydraulic oil to my raymarine autohelm hydraulic drive (It is 8 years old). I have been told that hydraulic oil and automatic transmission oil are the same thing. Any suggestions/recommendations? The hydraulic oil in the resevoir is red.

Oh no expert, but I think not, ATF as I was told has some abrasive stuff to help stuff grab in a transmission, hydraulic oil not.
