Although I love my Vega!
I have some spinal damage & I couldn't find a place to ever
sit-down for any length of time in any comfort.
So I converted one settee to a Table for Two
with adjustable seats & backs.

I uploaded a couple of pictures, thought someone else might
be interested.. (or have back problems, etc.)
(It reconverts back to a settee/bunk)

This has added a surprising amount of comfort to my Vega.
It's in the Photos here -- HWSeas-TableForTwo(2221)--

Cheers all !

Tom,
Thanks for posting the photos ... that's one of the nicest conversions I've seen ... it almost looks "stock"!

Tom,
I agree with Peter, that's a great conversion. So much so that I changed my mind on building a nav station at the forward end of the settee. I'm just about ready to start rebuilding the port settee in my remodel and was planning on cutting out about 18 inches of the forward end of the settee (for my legs) and building an insert so that the settee could still be used to sleep on. I was then going to build a nav station on that forward bulkhead.

Your design of being able to convert it back into a settee seems to be a much better idea. I wouldn't have a permanent nav station, but the table would be a fine substitute while under way and provides more options in the configuration.

Problem is, I want to know more about your conversion. I could only pull general information from the pictures. If you have more pictures that would be great. Better yet a drawing that gives the dimensions you used. I could noodle it out myself, but being you have already gone through the design, it would be great to pick your brain. If you don't have those, maybe I could give you a phone call and we could talk further. I'm sure that lots of others will want more details also though.
Thanks,

Ric

Very nice Tom. Would you be able to provide a little more, as Ric suggests, and perhaps post it in the files section? Someday, when I have more time, this looks like something I would like to do.

Very nice, Tom! We are interested as well. Did not launch Double Fantasy this summer, so perhaps that would be a good project. Looking forward to your diagrams.
