Forgot to mention ther is twin dolphin marina on manatee river. They have like a break water that help protect the boats from wakes.

regatta pointe is also on manatee-- but is by a bridge and has had damage in past....there are moorings across from the marina--i would try to gt into a baffled area with out access to an open space---the bayous in louisianna come to mind.....in mangrove swamps.... okechobee sounds about right---anywhere there is a baffle from surge and some wind protection..and space for 4 or so anchors with long and strong lines, antichafe, and gooooood holding..
