I just ordered a rudder from the above outfit for my Hunter 260. I would appreciate any tips on how it operates and if there are any tricks to installing it. Thanks to all you who have answered my numerious questions. Tip
I replaced my stock rudder with an IDA sailor rudder. Used for one season and am very happy with it. I ordered the H260 rudder for my H240 because it is the same specs as the original H240. I didn't want to give up the ability to push the boat hard to winward with minimal crew weight win racing for the shallower draft rudder they make for the H240. Before I ordered this rudder I spoke with several people on the trailer sailor site who were very happy with the product. Now worries about water intrusion. Installation is a breeze. takes about 30 minutes. Undue the downhaul and uphaul line. Drop the rudder and replace the new one.
I,ve got the Ida sailer rudder on my 260. works great, easier to raise and lower than the stock rudder, and if you bump the bottom with it it doesn't booger it up.
I just got mine intalled for my Hunter 23.5. It's too cold to got out and use it yet. The quality of materials and workmanship is excellent. You won't be dissapointed.
