Hunter356 Sump pump issue

Hi,
Our sump pump is not working. If we turn sump pump switch on, on control panel and push down on the flap, it works and but then trips the switch. Trying to figure out if it is the pump itself or if it is electric issue leading to pump. Any thoughts or ideas? Thank you

sounds like the pump. I have seen corded jammed impellers causing a locked rotor type situation. I would check for junk in the pump, and/or just replace it. They are not that expensive.

Thank you. We have had the boat for 6 years, so first time with this situation. Wondering if this is one whole unit. Will check with our boat works store. Thank you again.
