hunter26 RUDDER reconstruction

On behalf of a friend up here in the Rio Dulce, guatemala....we are trying to find out any information and specs to reconstruct his rudder, which was totaly lost over a reef. He has phoned the Hunter company for this information, and they were not interested in helping. There is no other hunter in this area, so we are asking if anyone can help....please answer here, or at pipnev@yahoo.com. thanks

Did Hunter not have any spare rudders for the H26, or did they just not want to encourage rebuilding a damaged one? It would be nice to know that Hunter does maintain some level of critical spare parts for our boats.

26 rudder.

Hunter probably subcontracted the rudder and rudder box (if the 26 has a box?). If Hunter really wanted 1 more 26 rudder they could have one built but it would not, in there eyes, be cost effective. Best short term solution for them is to stall and let the problem go away. It would probably be even more expensive for you to deal directly with the suppliers. (And a big) if the supplier even can legally deal directly with a consumer.

Hunter built the rudder for the 26 as I recall. Who did you talk with at Hunter? Normally, they are quite helpful. Call them back and ask for Mike Thomas at ext. 3015They do not send drawings out.Crazy Dave
