1988 Hunter legend 37. I want to put an inspection port in my tank. I removed v berth cover over the tank. Looks like plywood under tank may need replacing. Does anyone know if that plywood goes all the way under tank?

If your water tank is aluminum, which is highly likely if it's original, check it very carefully for leaks at and on the bottom of it 'cuz 20 years is the average lifespan for an aluminum water tank due to the cumulative effects of carrying chlorinated water, especially if you're one of those who adds a little bleach to every fill. If you find even the slightest dampness around or under the tank, it's definitely time for a new water tank. Empty it and use a flashlight or specialized camera to l\look for pitting on the inside of the bottom. If there are any, whether to replace the tank or put an inspection port in it so you can keep an eye on it depends on how many and how close to eating a hole through the metal any of 'em are.
