hunter stability

I have sailed a j24 but plan to use a hunter 19 this summer As I am a novice does anyone have experience with the water ballasted boat How does the stability compare with a fixed keel boat and do you think I will have any problems as long as I reduce sail area in high winds

hunter 19 stability

we had a hunter 19 in florida, and she's pretty stable with thte water ballast, but it's not the same as a keel-just be sure to reef early, as soon as you can't keep her upright with sail trim
