Hello guys! I will be installing Splendide 2100XC vented washer/dryer combo. If someone did this already, please share your experience, pictures will be great. Especially I'm interested in vent connection and water out of washer connection to through hull. Thanks in advance.

Hi Allen, our P42 has two hanging lockers just aft of the navigation station. The most aft one is set up for the washer/dryer with water line connections, drain, etc. We do not have one but if one was added at some point, that is normally where it would go.

Hi Allen, we purchased our 1991 P42 in 2002 and have sailed her thousands of miles. Wonderful boat; strong, fast, stiff and very comfortable. When you get a chance check out the "Boat Info" tab above that covers the 42. Lots of information about the boat. Hope you end up taking possession of her.

Hi Terry, we should close on paper work after haul out and survey for affordable insurance (930.00) First mod will be aft arch for solar, wind gens, davit, full length bimini and seating for 4 on wrap around corners. Have not seen any pics of this yet so maybe mine will be the first

Thanks, Dean! I know this picture. I'll call Cory at the end of this week and hopefully will find out all details of this installation.
After I'll get this project done, I'll post pics.

I'm not into debate of storage space use. Anybody free to wash their clothes in a bucket and so on. On our boat there 3 of us, me, wife and little boy, so my decision-washer/dryer a must. Well we also could be fine with 1 head but we bought boat with 2, we could buy 30 footer but we got 42. Life supposed to be lived and there's no reason to struggle and don't have some conveniences we deserve. I actually talk today with Cory, who very happy about having Splendide on boat, he has same boat and washer/dryer installed. We talked about installation details, so I do know what to do. The only one thing still not completely clear is how to run the vent pipe. On that space I have bilge blower pipe plus pipe from my Espar diesel heater. So I have to be creative and find out how to run my vent around all these. Any ideas? Thanks. S/Y Zaya.

Hi Zaya, as large as the engine room vent duct is I would tee the dryer duct into it rather than create a separate dedicated duct.

Yes, Terry! I thought about that, but then hot air from dryer will go to engine room, probably not all but some for sure. Unless while dryer working the engine room duct will be some how closed....

They make gates for those ducts so that you can close off one side.

So, it's done! Thanks for everyone who helped! Special thanks to Cory Harrison and Terry Cox for installation tips. Important to remove door to aft cabin before installation! The space for Splendide on our Passage 42 designed by Hunter precisely, right size, so there not much room to play. There were some tricks during installation but it turned great. Admiral happy, so I'm happy too!

Hello, I wanted to ask where is your engine room blower and how is it vented!
Our boat does not have one. And the hose that went out the port stern only came into the aft cabin and just stopped there!
Any photos would help me find how it gets to the engine room!
Thank you, Dean

Dean! The blower itself located under the locker where Splendide installed. The pipe goes under. Where is pickup I don't know yet. But looks like it's venting not only engine room but bilge area too. I'll be on the boat at the weekend and try to make some pictures for you. Or if you have IPhone, you can call me and I'll show you all you interested on Facetime. My set up a little complicated because I have Espar diesel heater under settie in aft cabin and heating pipe goes forward, so I have Splendide vent, blower pipe and heater pipe there they all meet under small table in aft cabin, I installed gates for Splendide vent and for blower after that I'll install Y connector and run single pipe to outside.
