Two comments: I just bought a 1994 Hunter Legend 37.5. 1) the wheel lock does not hold tight...is that an easy fix? and 2) the prior owner gave me the Owners Manual, but it is missing Chapter IV - Electronics, which appears to have Sections A - F. Does anyone have that Chapter? Thanks

Go to Hunterowners.com (a sub-site of this site) and then to owner resources. You can find the manual there.

Had the same problem with my 37.5, the wheel nut backing off. Wrapped some plumbers tape around the threads and secured the wheel nut. Working so far. As to the electronics chapter, I purchased my 37.5 new in 1996 and that chapter was missing. Assume electronics were individualized, therefore no need. You get operators manual with purchase of equipment. If you need any advice with your 37.5 I will be glad to help. Have replaced and upgraded every system on the boat

Thanks so much "rjarrell". We should stay in touch. I spent many years in south Florida and learned to sail on a Sunfish at my college in Winter Park.
I understand your point about the electronics section of the manual....that makes sense.

Regarding the wheel...there is no backing nut, or washer or anything between the wheel and the pedestal, so it tends to wobble a little bit. I ordered a washer and "C" clamp from Hunterowners.com. we will see if that helps.

I already replaced the refrigerator gas struts, so I am catching up to you on replacements....lol.......

and the wheel brakes are shot, so I will replace those next week when they come in.

One last question...did you replace the throttle and clutch connecting cables yet?

Yes. Replaced both. Not that difficult. Hardest part was removing the binnacle to access. The four bolts holding the binnacle had cold welded in place. Three days of applying the proper anti sieze lubricant made it possible to remove the bolts.
