Hello from Poole in southern UK. I have just become the owner of an H30 in excellent condition. The wood (teak?) rails around the exterior coach roof need attention, I assume this is a hardwood to have lasted nearly 30 yrs, seeking advice on how to
treat ,obviously avoiding varnish. This is a very well built boat, the nearest manufacturer over here would be a Moody.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new Hunter Legend 30!!

Expect it is teak. After sanding down to bare wood (on or off the boat) and you want to finish them WITHOUT a varnish, two options come to mind: 1) apply Teak Cleaner, then Teak Brightener then Teak Oil (refer to you tube video below) OR 2) apply Cetol (refer to article on refinishing teak handrails below). I used all, including varnish, and I prefer the the alternatives.

I prefer 2x/year treatment with plain teak oil, Daly's brand works well.
