I am interested to know how many Hunter owners there are over here or perhaps I should say "down under".I would appreciate responces from Hunter owners (no matter the size of your yacht) in Australia.
Hi Mark, what size Hunter are you sailing. I'm not from Australia but I think that this worldwide interest in these boats is fantastic. The fact that I live on an island on the east coast of Canada and can talk to a fellow Hunter sailor on the other side of the world is pretty neat. I'm just getting ready for spring launch. Do you sail all year round? Take care and smooth sailingCraigS/V Wind Toy
It also would be interesting to know where the Hunters were made, UK or US. Do all the UK Hunters have the twin keel? I know that there is a technically correct term for that but ??? Someone posted a picture on HOW from a London boat show that showed the Hunters just resting on their keels. Maybe a call to Hunter Marine?
The Hunter yachts we have is the 260 with tiller steering. We have several others including a North Shore and a Princess. If you have a look on a map you will find Albany on the South Coast of Western Australia. We have two large protected bays as well as a large semi protected area know as King George Sound. Sailing in Winter is excellent with summer sailing reasonable. Our winds in summer are mostly Easterly on average 15-25 knots and in winter Sou Sou Westerlies varying from 5-25 knots but here today there is a severe wind warning with gusts to about 50-60 knots with showers and thunderstorms. Perhaps it will blow through before the weekend I hope! Nope jsut heard on the radio 50-65 knots Tomorrow.
