Hunter HIN deciphering

Hey all, my first post as a new owner of a 1981 Hunter Cherubini 33!!! I might have a slight problem with the HIN - the one on the survey and BOS (the correct one) does not match the one recorded on the title and registration, which got me to wondering how to decipher the HIN. (it is HUN33390M81C)

this question has probably been asked on this forum before, but when I try to search it queries the whole site and I don't get Hunter (or Cherubin Hunter) specific answers. . .

Here is the link that we always reference around here: http://www.boatsafe.com/nauticalknowhow/hin.htm . Pretty straightforward, hull #390, Mfg'd in 1981, with a code for the month which always confuses me.
