I hadn’t been to the website of the dealer where I bought my Hunter until today. Looks like they have stopped selling Hunters and now carry Benneatau’s only. Is Hunter still in production and selling boats somewhere in the midwest?

Yes, Hunter is still in business. They seem to be migrating to factory direct for new boats. I thing Great Lakes Sailimg Company out of Traverse City, MI is still a Hunter dealer.

The old Hunter as we know it is gone.

In any business when a manufacturer does not offer financial support to a dealer base, then it is very hard for any dealership to find flooring assistance or funding which to buy boats unless you are wealthy and sell your sole to the finance company. Some manufacturers are probably going this route now as financing has many demands. Not sure if this is the case here but who knows.

My dealer in Racine, WI stopped carrying Hunter. As I understand Hunter wasn't standing behind the warranty work- not paying for it. Our boat show in Chicago didn't include Hunter. Very sad.

Yes, they've switched to Beneteau and Dufour. Getting warranty issues addressed has been a nightmare.

I had heard this and that is another equation of the pie when a manufacturer does not pay for warranty why dealers leave. If I had the resources to buy back I would but alas I don’t.
