We have a 1974, 25 ft. Hunter and are sailing for a second season on Cayuga Lake in upstate NY. Such a good and kind boat for the new sailor-we love it! The cabin could use some sprucing up and I am curious about what it could look like with some TLC. Does anyone have any pics of the original design? Or renovation projects?

I have an '88 23 so I doubt any pictures I have would be much help. But dang I'm envious of you sailing on the Finger Lakes. My first mate and her sisters took me to Seneca Lake the summer of 2000. Visited Wagner Vineyards. Had a great time. We really want to go back and sail there sometime.

We Southerners tend to think of New York as one large city. But I have learned over the years that Upstate New York is one of the most beautiful and rural areas in the world. Good luck with your sprucing up and have fun!

p.s. I'd love for you to post pictures of Cayuga Lake. Especially with your boat!

Hunter 30 Centerport
My 1978 H-27 which has a similar but slightly larger cabin....
I replaced att the cushion covers
Replaced all the wall fabric & bumbers
New curtains
Well oiled all teak
And if you can see from the pics put hatches in the sides of the bench seats for better access than from under the cushions.

Nice. Very creative way to sell a sailboat.

Cabin Interior Re-do

Here are before and after shots of the cabin in my 1982 Hunter 30. New berber carpet, new cushion covers, mirror removed and bulkhead painted. Finished off with some $5 throw pillows. The removable rail on the starboard sitee holds guests' picnic coolers and bags.

You're right, Ed. Very creative. First mate and I were amazed at how awful some of the pictures of boats for sale were when we were in the market for a boat. This person definitely put some effort into his presentation.

I could almost put this post in as a rant. Don't get me started...
