The Hunter ad from an '82 Sail Magazine issue. 'The Affordable Fantasy'. : ) I bought my first sailboat in '82 at the age of 15 (a used CatYak) and it took me another 32 years to get my Hunter. Anyway, I was going through a box of stuff my Mom packed up in the 80's when I joined the Army and came across an old issue of Sail Magazine. Thought everyone might enjoy seeing the ad. This is just a quick photo of the ad. If anyone would like me to scan it in for a proper photo let me know.

I wish they had stuck to the idea of using stainless water tanks like this says....must have been cut by the bean counters. Im nervously waiting for the pinholes to start in my water tank, you know the one glassed into the v-berth.

I am with SerenityTC and with Redbeard on both points.

I have tons (literally) of old magazines, many of which feature old Hunter ads. I have a (not-so-high-quality) reprint of the c.1979 Cruising World article on my dad, 'Man In Motion', done by Deborah Luhrs.

I also have a reprint of the infamous Sailing magazine article in which Bob Perry blasted the H54's sailing characteristics without ever having sailed one. My cousin Lee gave Bob Perry the USMC riot act when Perry visited the C44 at the Annapolis show that year. I've always been proud of Lee but that put it over the top for me. This article is still available at Sailing magazine.

As regards archives, I have dozens of drawings of boats most Hunter owners don't know; and these may prove very interesting if and when I can make them available.
