Hunter 50 AC - Spare Rudder System

Hello.

Anyone knows what Spare Rudder System mentioned as optional equipment for the Hunter 50 is, I mean just a spare rudder or a system that can be installed inline as backup os some way in the middle?

Also, is this Spare Rudder System still sourcable from the market?

Greetings from Naples FL. Not sure what they meant by spare rudder. On my 2009 49, they included an emergency tiller on the port cockpit locker, it looks like and "L" pipe about 2 inches in diameter. If the autopilot is not working or the steering mechanical links fail you can install the emergency tiller directly to the rudder post. YMMV. A few years ago Hunter Marine used composite rudder post that failed, losing the rudder and they were several post on how to make a spare rudders with a door and other pieces. I re-read the specs and it looks like you that the spare rudders is an option. My 49 has the stainless steel rudders post. I have found sandy bottoms a few times and the rudder post is still good 10 yrs later.

hunter made a SS pare rudder that clamped to stern of boat in an emergency. I do re.ember seeing this installed on a Hunter 49 when I was looking at purchasing. I wish it was still available.
