opps missed one ... The tang that the furler is attached to goes through the deck into the sail locker. The backing plate for the tang is in the vberth.

Nice looking job. That is what Hunter Marine recommended at the time where to mount the chain plate for the staysail stay. Have you installed a second set of winches, too? The P42 has two mount points for an extra set of winches about two feet behind the Genoa winches. Maybe someday, but unlikely considering our cruising plans.
