Quick question for any of you H49 owners who are fortunate enough to be on, or close to your boats.

I am in the process of rebuilding/redesigning the existing round ceiling fixtures on my H49. Seemed like a good off-season, away from the boat, project. I've never been thrilled with the amount of light that they put out, I've missed having a red light option for sailing at night, and certainly wouldn't mind something with a lower current draw. I started earlier this year by pulling a fixture and disassembling it. My goal in to use the existing chrome trim, 3D print new plastic internals (and possibly new lenses), and then wiring them up with RGB LED lights (I found some cool prebuilt LED rings that I think will work perfect).

No promises that I will be as thorough in my documentation as Art usually is with his projects/upgrades, but I'll try if there is interest in the final results.

So this far in and getting to my question - I'm an hour and a half from the boat, and I can't find where I wrote down how many fixtures there are! I know they are in all three cabins, and the main salon. For some reason 10 sticks in my head, maybe it was 12, but was looking for the RIGHT number, by cabin, so that I can get the right power supplies, right number of LEDs, and print enough housings. So, if you are on your boat in the next week or two, and don't mind looking up and counting for me - how many fixtures are there!

Thanks much!

What ever number, I would suggest adding a few extras.

You never know when they might come in handy to lighten up a corner that is dark.

yes looking now and it's 10, although after doing quite a few ocean passages now we find the red floor lights to be enough light. we did change out all halogen to LED and was so bright we actually changed to a warmer light.

Thank you Art and Zencra for the quick replies, I'm glad to see that the memory has not gone yet.
Art called them as I pictured them in my head - 6, 2, 1, 1.

Zencra, appreciate the thoughts on lighting - getting the red with these will be effectively a perk, as they are RGBs, so color adjustable. The red will be there whether I choose to use it or not. And I hear what you're saying about a "warmer" light. I'm going to buy one to start to see how "adjustable" it is. They are dimmable, and I know it's not for everyone, but I kind of prefer the whiter/bluer daylight color temp for doing projects down below.

And as I said earlier, I've never been great on the documentary aspect, but thinking I may use this project as an opportunity to try and improve that skillset. Someone else may need/want to replace theirs as well in the future, and I've found following Art's projects much easier with his pictures and steps outlined.

For those of you in the northern hemisphere - stay warm, our marina opens in 120 days, so I better get started on this project!!
