Hunter 456 and replacement compass

Hi

My newly acquired Hunter needs a lot of work but she has good bones.

The boat has the original Danforth 4.5 inch Global Balance compass. It is long in the tooth and I read cannot be serviced.

Does anyone know of a direct Drop in replacement?

Check out Ritchie Compasses. It would depend on the hardware you have on you boat. Ritchie makes a lot of different designs.

What is wrong with it? Service for compasses exists. You can question if it's worth it but service may be better than replacement if you can't get a drop in replacement. And sometimes that's hard to do.

That is what I wanted. I read where someone said that compass was not being serviced. So I thought I would ask for options.
