Hunter 44/426 offshore

We are considering buying an H44 for coastal cruising on the US East coast, and possibly the Bahamas. This will obviously entail some overnight, offshore passagessuch as the Cape Cod Canal to Penobscot Bay, or from Ft. Lauderdale to the Bahamas across the Gulf Stream. I would like to hear from current owners of 44/426s about their experiences in such conditions and how they would rate the boat for offshore use.Larry Jackel

Previous discussions indicate that either boat is a great match for the cruising you describe.Hunter designs over 40 feet are will do well offshore with careful preparation, and many have sailed the waters you intend to sail.DavidLady Lillie
