Hunter 42 Passage San Diego, CA
Last summer I spent the better part of a week cleaning and checking the midships water tank in my 1992 Passage. And now??? It appears to be leaking like a sieve. So my question to you Hunter owners, especially those with the older aluminum tanks, is has anyone replaced the midships aluminum tank and if so can you tell me how you did it and with what materials did you manufacture the new tank with? I have received the drawings of the original tanks from Hunter but I am not sure I can remove the old and replace with new without completely removing the settee and hot water heater and all the rest. HELP because I am feeling like my boat is ruined and I am not sure how to repair it. thanks as always! Sandy

removal will require substantial movement or removal of gear. I was lucky with mine, it was only the outlet and since it was in the clear next to the nav station, all I had to do was remove the water heater and cut an access hole in the tank.
