Hi All,

Does anyone have the exact dimensions of the bezel which covers and surrounds the cabintop solar panel? My solar panel is toast and I am installing larger panels over the arch and don't need this smaller panel, so I want to remove it and replace the bezel with a starboard poly piece cut out to fit. I am 4 hrs from my boat and don't want t run down there just to measure it. Would also appreciate knowing the rounded corner diameter too if you are able.

Thanks

Why remove it? Mine is toast as well but would rather have the dead panel than a piece of starboard that is hard to keep clean.

HI Sailgunner, mainly because the panel itself is all bent up, bulging, and looks like crap. I would like to find something that is easy to keep clean, maybe Poly is not the answer, I'll take suggestions, and not teak.

I am going to do same.
Size 18.87x23.25 with radius 2.25" you will have gap less than 1/16".

Hi Tantor, one last question, what is the thickness of the bezel? I am also assuming it is white and not cream?

Thanks again.

Hi Tantor, Do you mean that the cover panel is not square and is odd shaped? I'm not sure how to decipher those measurements now as I'd like to pre-cut the panel in advance of my going to the boat. Can you offer a better description?

Thanks

I am confused with your bezel question. Why you need that? When you remove solar panel (18.87x23.25 with corner radius 2.25") this is your opening in the deck you need make same size replacement 5/8' thick and btw it is white. I am just thinking maybe you will remove just solar panel and keep bezel??? OK ,but water will stay there as is now.
I didn't do it yet, it so cold ...but I am replacing whole thing 18.87x23.25 with King starboard 3/8" and underlayment of 1/4" FRB board.

Measurment with caliper looks off but that is because lens is square only with reading side. Measurments are exact what you read on caliper.
Pictures are from left to right; port side, starboard and stern

Hi Tantor,

OK, so I think I got it. I also plan to remove the entire bezel and solar panel and replace the entire piece with one solid Starboard Poly or King Starboard and will use your measurements of 18.87x23.25 at 3/8" thick. I'm not sure why you'll use the FRB board as that might not last very long with humidity and rain. I'll accept a small dip if the Poly is not thick enough to match the deck height.

Thanks

Actualy FRB is solid fiberglass board and I plan to put a little crown in it. Top cover King starboard will be watertight sealed to deck.

I see, thank you. Having not seen my boat in over 4 months I wish I was able to check it out and take it apart. Perhaps the fiberglass board is a good idea too to assure it is water tioght.

Thanks
