Does any have any views on the re-sale values of the 2001-2005 410 Models with these two choices?
Does any one have the tri-cabin model and have any views (pros & cons)?

It is for our family and not for charter.

Thanks:)

2 Cabin is great.

We have owned a 2 cabin 2000 410 for 3 years and would never consider a 3 cabin (which I think is only for the charter business). We just love the 2 cabin set up and we normally sleep me in the back and wife in the pullman unless we have company (rarely).

And SIX on board for sleeping........ No NO NO.

I just would not consider a 3 cabin and I suspect that there would have to be at least a $30k difference to even start to sway me.

We once chartered a 3-cabin H46. The three couples drew straws. My wife and I got the smaller aft cabin. No way, I slept in the salon and she back there. That was kind of by design since we were not married yet. The point being that she was not comfortable even by herself, claimed it was too claustrophobic.

But on the other hand you did not describe your sailing. Maybe you have small children who would love to have their own cabins. I wish I had that problem, to heck with the resale in that case.

2 vs 3

Three cabin configuration is highly desirable in new boats as they are preferred by charter companies. The problem lies when these companies retire the boats which are now to be purchased by a private owner which most likely would prefer the two stateroom configuration. I would think that for the model years you describe the two stateroom would carry a better resale value.

resale

Condition will really make the biggest difference in the resale of any boat. Equipment and layout don't mean much if the boat looks tired and abused. Since many of the tri-cabin boats were ordered specifically for and used heavily in the Caribbean charter fleets, nice clean ones are therefore fairly rare and in demand for families looking for the extra bunk space.
