You might try these people. http://www.pyiinc.com/I have just purchased an 18" three blade maxprop for my '95 Hunter 40.5.
Can anyone share the settings that you've used for the prop?
Thank you in advance.

On my 44DS 4JH4E 1-1/4" shaft my 18" MaxProp is set at "MaxProp Pitch" 24, which I seem to remember corresponds to real pitch of 15. Works fine.I have just purchased an 18" three blade maxprop for my '95 Hunter 40.5.

Max Prop pitch is measured in degrees. Fixed-blade props are measured in inches. On my 44DS 4JH4E 1-1/4" shaft my 18" MaxProp is set at "MaxProp Pitch" 24, which I seem to remember corresponds to real pitch of 15. Works fine.
And your point is.....? Have you ever actually read the MaxProp install instructions?Max Prop pitch is measured in degrees. Fixed-blade props are measured in inches.
"Real pitch"? Oh brother.![]()
As a matter of fact, I have. You see, I am a PYI-recommended Max Prop installer and as such, have installed many dozens of Max Props- almost all of them underwater.Have you ever actually read the MaxProp install instructions?
You might want to read the first page more closely. Specifically the cross-reference chart converting pitch in inches to degrees or 'real pitch'.As a matter of fact, I have. I understand that Max Prop instruction manuals have a pitch conversion chart, having read it many times. My point is that the term "real pitch" is ridiculous. Whether you measure pitch in degrees or inches, it is all the same. Pitch is pitch, regardless of the unit of measurement. You might want to read the first page more closely. no need to get so defensive.
So your point was "...Pitch is pitch..."? Hard to debate that. And the table is not actually a "conversion" table as much as an equivalency table to illustrate the relationship between MaxProp pitch, and oh darn, here I go again, real pitch.I understand that Max Prop instruction manuals have a pitch conversion chart, having read it many times.
